I’m on a mission to purify workplaces of this toxicity so employees and employers alike can thrive and do what they do best: work that makes the world better.

After facing race and gender bias in my own career, I decided to do something about it.

The Professor

I had the utmost privilege of being in Professor Jackson’s Legal Writing Research & Communication III course. This was a required course for all second year law students. During my time as her student, Professor Hall taught me essentially everything I know about writing an Appellate Brief. It was clear from the first day that she had a passion for educating law students in this field. Thanks to her teaching style and dedication, I was able to earn an A in her course and getting one of the highest grades in her class. I always respect the fact that Professor Hall had her own practice, while still showing up to every single class, teaching with tenacity and enthusiasm. During the semester, she would harp on the fact that it was important to have a great work ethic in this profession. I can remember her quoting almost daily “if you are going to be lazy now, you are going to be lazy as a lawyer.” This is something that will stick with me as I endeavor to become not only an attorney, but an advocate for the people. Thank you, Professor, Hall, and keep up the great work.

I had the privilege of being in Professor Jackson’s Legal Writing Research & Communication II course. This was a required course for all second year law students. During my time as her student, Professor Hall dedicated her heart and soul to this course. During the semester, she would frequently check in on all her students to make sure they were excelling not only in the classroom, but outside as well. Thanks to her teaching style, I was able to receive the CALI award for the course. Moreover, I vividly remember her telling me to work hard when prepping for the bar exam & to dedicate at least 8 hours a day. I’m proud to say that I was able to pass the California Bar Exam on my first attempt thanks to her leadership. Further, I kept up with the work Professor Hall was doing as an Attorney. She had her own practice and was making an impact towards the community. No matter how busy she got, she would never forget her duty as an advocate for the people. That’s something that will stick with me as I embark on my journey as an Attorney
